{Houston Wedding Photography} Why is a Second Shooter so Important?

{Houston Wedding Photography} Why is a Second Shooter so Important? Two photographers at weddings are always a must.  In addition to the obvious benefit of being able to capture your wedding ceremony and reception from different angles, there are several reasons a second shooter is essential.

As much as we prep and prepare, stuff happens. Life happens. Things can be missed. Below are just a few examples of things that can happen.

  • Equipment fails. Regardless of how new and shiny it is, camera equipment can fail at any time.
  • Guests jump up from their seats and put an iPad or cell phone right in front of your photographer during the kiss. Yes, it happens. A LOT.
  • Photographers need bathroom breaks. Of course, we try to plan them around the big events at the reception. Having a second shooter ensures that when the main photographer is out of the room, there is always someone around to catch the action.

Regardless of the size of your wedding, it is one of the most important days of your lives. Too important to take a chance of missing key moments. These are moments that cannot be re-created. Having two photographers (with backup equipment for each) helps ensure that despite the crazy things that can happen at a wedding, all of your  precious moments will be preserved in the photos
